My response
The pieces of text I chose for this brief were the world war two speeches written by the American General, Dwight D. Eisenhower. The first piece of text was the D–Day speech written for the American soldiers and the second was a speech prepared in the event of the invasion failing, which was hidden away and later placed in the American archive. My interpretation of this was that there were two sides to Eisenhower, that he showed doubt and the possibility that his troops could fail. I visualised my interpretation of the two speeches by creating a enveloped two–sided document showing the
two speeches. Once the one side of the document is opened you would need to close that side to open the other side, representing the two sides of Eisenhower.
